Art Jones needs new a bike fundraiser
NEED A TAX DEDUCTION FOR 2014???????
HERE’S AN IDEA!!!!!!!
ART JONES NEEDS A NEW BIKE!
Art is a member of the Major Taylor Cycling Club of San Diego (MTCCSD), as well as a California Triple Crown winner, governed by the ultra marathon cycling association. To have the Honor of becoming a Triple Crown Winner, a cyclist must ride a distance of 200 miles in one day under an 18 to 22 hour time frame, which varies depending on the event. You must complete 3 timed 200 miles rides in one calendar year to have the Honor of being named a Triple Crown Winner. Art achieved that goal in 2012. He is also a member of the Blind Stokers Club which helps give visually impaired people an opportunity to ride a tandem bike. Every year the Institutes for the Blind host a cycling event that raises money to help the institute. It is a ride from Santa Barbara to San Diego; over a 227 miles in 3 days and without fail: Art is at every event, riding, training and fundraising to help the institute and to help mentor other visual impaired cyclist.
What makes Art unique is he is an amazing athlete and individual that lets nothing stand in his way to achieving his goals.
He was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of three and due to complication of his disease lost his sight at the age of twenty. This has been a difficult year for Art who was hit by an automobile while at a stop light on his tandem last year. It was at that time he was diagnosed with Paget’s Disease, which is a rare bone disease that causes him to have constant back pain. A few months after his accident Art suffered an internal brain hemorrhage making it impossible for him to ride. It has been a slow recovery process for Art but is improving and is determined to let nothing hinder him from his next challenge.
Stay tuned for details on his next adventure but first Art needs a bike.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for a new bike.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to Art’s bike fund and have a Paypal account, you can do so by going to www.Paypal.com, logging into your Paypal account and sending money to the MTCCSD Paypal account email@example.com.
